My name is Monet…as in Claude Monet….after my mom’s favorite painter.
I have been in the TV News business for 15 years in the Bay Area. I’ve spent most of these years as a video editor and media manager in the ABC7 newsroom, slamming together video as fast as possible to “make air” for everything from reporter live shots to teases. I have had the priviledge of working on a broadcast that has earned the esteemed Edward R. Murrow Award for Journalistic Excellence.
I’ve worked all hours of the clock and all days of the year, and it has been a great ride. Certainly, never a dull one.
But working in a newsroom does not feed my soul…IlluMonet Productions feeds my soul!
Through IlluMonet Productions I am able to provide video services to artists and small businesses who want to add a video presence to their websites. I focus on nonprofits and startups. I love the underdog, the talented and the new kid on the block.
I specialize in working with artists, showcasing their skills and talents. Nothing excites me more than helping people share their unique gifts with the world, from their business to their artistry.
I have been doing business as IlluMonet Productions for the last 4 years. I’ve had the privilege of doing promotional and production videos for The Crucible, a nonprofit industrial arts school in Oakland California, music videos for Push, a local rock band fronted by ABC7’s Dan Ashley, to working with neon artists and encaustic painters.
My videos have been used by artists in grant proposals and for successful Kickstarter Campaigns.
I’m a long time resident of the Mission District in San Francisco, which I have seen grow and change in many ways, some for better, some for worse. The Bay Area has been home to me since I drove a U-Haul over the Bay Bridge back in the early ’90’s. I can’t imagine living any place else.
